Anyone know how much this costs?
And how hard is it to set up on the computer?

Dan,
Don't know what you're looking to do with it, it's ok as far as recording programs go, if you looking to purchase it, get Cakewalk. If you're going Raggz's route get Nuendo or Vegas. I use both Vegas and Nuendo at the studio(licensed versions for that redneck hacker). Vegas is the easiest to use, Nuendo is the best sounding and most capable, while your hacking be sure to download the Waves Gold Bundle plug-in's.

Dan...
Ya can get a copy free from one of any hacker sites...Just type in Free Full Downloads or something like that.
I got it free off one of these sites...and it was the full program. Though because my comp took a chit last time...I lost it..and have yet to download it again.
If I still had it...I would of just sent ya a installer for Cool Edit Pro..alogn with the serial number.
Man, I'm such a hacker.
Also, here's a hacker secret...hahaha.
If ya download a demo or trial version...Just find an update for a program...and updat sometimes thinks it's the full program and updates the demo to make it a full working program...haha

BTW Raggz, thank you too. I might try that.
One other problem though. My home computer has about 1/1000 minibites of free space, so I doubt I'd be able to download it, huh?

I must say; I am disappointed to read that
everybody's forgotten that I'm the CEP King, and
have used it everyday for the past 5 years,
and am bascially ruler of it, leader of
everything blablabla .

Fly, you do purchase CEP2, then goto Adobe.com
for your free upgrade to Audition. (Adobe
purchased Syntrillium and now own the license).
If you get a cracked version, then don't.

If you need general CEP operational advice
then drop me a mail.

BTW, there's no technical difference between
CEP2 and Adobe Audition, but it's obviously
now Adobe's responsibility to provide customer
technicial/non-technical support for it.

And don't be fooled: As far as .wav production/
sequencing is concerned, CEP2 competes quite
merrily with anything Logic Platinum, Pro Tools
or Cubase can throw at it. The marginal
differences are invariably the diversity of
plugins and filters. So as far as recording rock
music is concerned, this is irrelevant.

Dan,
I own just about every program made in the past 10 years and keep them updated due to the range of my clientile. If you want the best sounding, Nuendo(this obviously depends upon your system as well), most user friendly Vegas. Cool Edit in my opinion is not a truly professional program and not worth the money for the upper end versions, Rappers usually bring me their loops that were done in CE and other programs. I believe they sell for approx $69 a guitar version or something like that. If you download or if someone sends it to you you are going to need a decent amount of drive space. Cool Edit or Cakewalk will do the basic job your looking to do, personally I like Vegas, it's quick, reliable and user frielndly, I use it in my 'b'room, for pro projects I use Nuemdo.

Drew, what I plan to do with it is basically some really, really, really....really rough demos. I really don't have any studio experience, or much computer experience either. The only thing I even have a slight clue about is cool edit pro, because a few weeks ago I went into the radio station here to cut a commercial for my company (no singing just talking), but I thought it was cool that the guy could raise the level of my voice, and have me start again at a certain sentence, and paste it together. We then put some canned background music behind me to make it sound better. We just talked a little about it, and I had heard people before talking about using it for demos and such, so I figured while I'm still learning how to play guitar, and using my drum machine, I could at least put some very rough stuff together to get some kind of idea how it might sound. So, what would be best for a super beginner in both the music/studio, and computer world??? And how much would i be looking at?
Thanks

Got my copy pf CEP off Kazaa. I'm gonna be recording our demo with it in a couple of weeks - I only recently found out you can run multi-tracking on it...
